We offer a variety of Lamb, ranging from the traditional rare breeds, or the famous salt marsh lamb from the Romney Marsh in Kent. In addition we also offer our own brand of Colne Valley Lamb which is focused on us picking out some 1500 lambs a year from the 20,000 or so that is farmed on our doorstep. The rare breed varieties include; Hampshire Down, Jacob, Grey Faced Dartmoor, Hebridean etc.
The Salt Marsh Lamb offers a unique flavour due to the grazing over the natural grasses and samphire of the salt marshes. These Marshes are free from any fertilizers and provide a totally environment for the sheep to roam about so freely.
The Meat has a richer and altogether sweeter flavour which explains why 90% of the UK’s salt marsh lamb is exported to France where it is highly prized by the top chefs.
The Colne Valley Lamb is produced on the Essex/Suffolk border by a group of local farmers who we secure the very best of there output from by actually choosing them directly from the field. The Early Lambs that are produced in the valley are some of the best in the UK due to the fact that this area is particularly dry and warm ensuring good early growth in the spring.
